Gavin saw Rhea across the room in a crowded bar and instantly knew he wanted to get to know her. It was easter weekend, nearly six years ago. Rhea was out with a group of her friends celebrating the start of another great season of Gaelic Football with her teammates. They chatted for a while and sparks flew 😉
A few days later Gavin turned up to his first day of practice with the mixed football team he’d joined and -I didn’t get the exact details on this- but I think his jaw must have dropped when he saw Rhea jog past. They’ve been adventuring together ever since.
They had decided on the Bandara Resort & Spa as the place to get married a they loved everything whole 2 years ago! They loved Gie, the resident wedding planner extraordinaire there at Bandara and everything she came up with.
The day started off nice and hot and relaxed with the girls getting ready in one of the villas. Rhea and her bridesmaids did their own makeup and they had their friend do their hair, she did a stunning job… wait till you see!
Meanwhile Gavin and the boys got ready together in a seperate part of the resort…
Rhea had chosen white + blush for her and the bridesmaids…
Thanks to Don for the awesome photos of the boys getting ready!
I love Gavin’s tie!
Gavin came backpacking through Thailand with a great friend, Jono, who was one of his groomsmen 8 years ago. They said they had one of the best times ever, and loved every minute of their 3 month Thai experience. That was one of the reasons why choosing Thailand as the location for thei destination wedding was so easy!
Rhea is originally from New Zealand, and Gavin from Ireland, so Thailand is almost halfway for both side of their families to travel, the perfect destination!
Rhea’s bridesmaids helped her into her dress, and she looked stnning!
The Banyan Tree Lawn, where Gain + Rhea decided they wanted their wedding ceremony to take place in the gardens of the Bandara resort.
The groomsmen chilling before the ceremony…
Rhea looked so, so beautiful!
YAY!
Pop the Champagne!
After the ceremony we headed to the gardens for some bridal party photos…
We had a whole lot of fun chatting + getting some fun photos.
Just LOOK at these beautiful women!!!
This is what we called the model pose photo… quite vogue, don’t you think?!?! Haha!
Then Rhea, Gavin and I headed onto the beach for some quiet time <3
And FUN times… 😉
This is the look of a couple who are not only best friends, partners in crime, travellers but also teammates, literally.
And just beautiful moments that leave me speechless in the moment, feeling the love between these two 🙂
Rhea wanted heaps of fairy lights for their reception by the beach, and I must say, it kinda took my breath away, just like a fairytale!
Then we quickly let off a few lanterns at the end of dusk…
And these two rocked their official entrance as a married couple to their friends and family cheering them on.
One of the sweetest first dances <3
And what awesome wedding is complete without a wedding cupcake for all the guests to share in the yumminess.
Happy Friday In LOVE <3 <3
