Hiro and Rumi met after a long time of dating in Hong Kong, their mutual friends decided to finally introduce them, and the rest is history.
Through our emails I could just tell these two were an awesome couple, and it only became more apparent when we met up for our Love Story (Engagement) session on one of their trips to Samui earlier this year. Hiro grew up in the US around Colorado, so I bet you can imagine his awesome American English accent now, Rumi in Japan. They love traveling, anything to do with nature, and good food and of course good people!
They had chosen InAsia Villa as their wedding venue on Koh Samui… which I could see on the day as soon as I got there, it suits them just right.
Samui has become a big part of their story. They’ve been here 3 times already & can’t get enough of it! When I got to spend the afternoon photographing them for their love story session I just loved hearing their stories of exploring all the different corners of Samui together.
The team at Bliss Events Thailand were their wedding planners and made sure everything went smoothly. I love the style of their wedding details and decorations! Simple and elegant which just made for a beautiful day all round!
How cute are these two!?!
Rumi looked so beautiful!!!!
We headed down onto the beach for some bridal party photos and had some fun together!
And then we headed over to a nearby palm tree field, just Hiro, Rumi and I for some of those gorgeous nature surrounds that they both love.
As soon as I saw their sunset, I got so excited… I mean look at this gorgeous soft light! *sighhh* Makes for the most romantic photos!
The five islands in the background…
This part of Samui is just so beautiful! I couldn’t think of a more perfect place for Hiro and Rumi!
Their wedding was a day surrounded by close friends and family. During their speech, Hiro and Rumi made a point to go around the table and introduce all of their guests and personally thank every single person for coming to spend the day with them. It just made me feel so lucky to get to photograph the wedding of such a lovely couple! I learnt a lot of Japanese culture that day, so I’m hoping to get to visit one day!
I didn’t think it could get any more beautiful after those bride and groom photos at sunset, but it just kept getting better and better!
I got to leave just as Hiro was starting to round the party up into dance mode, which I’m sure was a whole lot of fun!
Happy Friday!
