Briolynn (Bri) and Paul and I have shared a long photography journey together… I was already so honoured to photograph their proposal AND engagement on Koh Samui. So when I got an email asking if I’d be available to photograph their wedding in Sydney last November I could barely contain my excitement (Nek can attest to this, because we were in the airport in Kuala Lumpur waiting for our next flight when the email cam through). Lets just say I did a few jumps up and down, nothing too embarrassing. 😉
As soon as Bri visited Tumbling Waters with her sister, she knew it was where she wanted to get married, and brought Paul to show him soon after. All I can say is they did a good job at choosing! The views overlooking Stanwell Park Beach are amazing!
Bri and Paul have been friends since high school. Bri was the new girl who moved into Paul’s school, they met in hospitality class and said their first ‘hi’s then fell into different friendship groups. About a year later they became proper friends, and then later again, best friends.
One night after going out with her friends to have a few drinks Bri mustered up the courage to stop by Paul’s house on the way home and tell him how she really felt about him.. the feeling was mutual.
9 years on, I photographed Paul getting down on one knee to ask Bri to stay by his side. Last month I photographed the happiest day of their lives so far.
Bri and the girls got ready in jittery excitement together.
Check out this stunning scene of the mist coming up through the hills… such a beautiful location.
I owe a huge thanks to Russell who photographed Paul and his groomsmen getting ready at a nearby location while I was getting the girls.
Beautiful flowers by Floral Fix 🙂
Bri’s niece was so excited and loved every minute of being a flower girl.
Again, I’m so grateful for everything Russell did on the day, he got some awesome photos of Paul and the guys!
Nearly time!
Paul was super excited, coming out to check on the weather every few minutes.
We had a rain scare right before the ceremony with heavy downpour, but it cleared up within 10 minutes, so we were able to have the ceremony on the grass, just like Bri had envisioned.
Bri’s dad walked her down the aisle and gave her away to Paul.
Paul’s nephew made the cutest pageboy who everyone wanted photos with 🙂
The gardens surrounding the Tumbling Waters are just stunning, so we had to get heaps of photos.
Bri and Paul had some frames handmade for them just to get this shot!
Tumbling Waters is located south of Sydney city, and it’s really close to Stanwell Park Beach, so we headed there with the bridal party for some gorgeous photos just as the sun was setting.
I was SOO happy that everyone braved the narrow path, (a bit of) mud and sand to get to where we got these photos… it was so worth it and I think you’ll agree!
I’m so in love with so many of the photos Russell took! It’s so good to have a completely different perspective and angle of the same moment.
I just LOVE these beach photos!!
This one reminds me of nearly a year ago, when we had Bri and Paul’s engagement session, and the weather on (normally beautiful, sunny) Samui wasn’t cooperating. Bri said the exact same thing just as she looked back at me and I took this photo; “let just roll with it”.
SIGHHH… these two <3 <3 <3!
We arrived back at the retreat just in time for this view of the sunset light over the horizon.
Paul wanted a Lego cake, and that’s what they decided to go with. Bri was so happy with the cute Lego bride and groom cake toppers with the wedding dress that looks exactly like her real dress!
They had an awesome guitarist, Anthony playing early on during the reception, and then mixing some awesome dance music later as well 🙂
Lots of people came out to watch the storm out at sea and so I had to try and capture some of the lightning.
Soon after, the party started!
And Bri and Paul’s beautiful day ended with a happy sparkler exit.
