What a long (and AWESOME) journey it feels like I’ve been on with Kirsty and Jared since our first meeting at Mini Bar around August last year, to their engagement session in Melbourne (which I’ll be blogging in a little while) while Nek and I were visiting last November, to their WEDDING which was just about 1.5 weeks ago! They are still on their ‘honeymoon’ celebrating on the island in a beautiful private villa somewhere, so hopefully this is a nice surprise for them, to get to see some photos! 🙂
Kirsty and Jared decided from the very beginning that the Ozo Chaweng Samui would be the perfect venue for them… and it was! Situated in the heart of Chaweng, it was so easy for all their guests to go out shopping, enjoy the nightlife and of course… eat!
Kirsty and Jared went with navy blue and purple for their colours which I loved!
Kirsty and Jared met in London and instantly became close friends, something just clicked. Jared is originally from South Africa, however he’d grown up in Australia and settled right in there in Melbourne. Kirsty is part of a big Aussie family (their street is even named after them!) and is a very strong + passionate woman, she now runs her own business with her whole family cheering her on. They’re the perfect pair.
After having been close friends for a few years, Jared tried his luck and decided to kiss Kirsty one day… apparently he sealed the deal to a lifelong friendship then and there. 😉
We started the day off with Kirsty and her bridesmaids and mum getting ready together excitedly. Polina did the girls’ hair and makeup and ensured everyone looked beautiful!
Meanwhile Jared and the boys prepared in a different style – drinks, hangover kits, and to-do lists at the ready.
Jared is loud and hilarious, Kirsty loves to have fun and takes her friendships to the next level! There were gifts being handed out left right and centre.
After being a part of their wonderful day, and having read about the
5 love languages not that long ago… I’m beginning to think Kirsty is a gift giver 🙂
I love, love weddings for moments like this – when you can almost see the years of love a couple have for each other by the look in their eyes. <3
Celebration time!!
Look at the beautiful women I get to photograph! 🙂
These few moments Kirsty and Jared got to spend together away from the crowd were just right.
Sometimes, wedding days just fly by. Time to party already!
There were so many thoughtful details Kirsty (contrast to what I believed when I asked Jared if he had planned the groomsmens’ outfits, it’s actually not so much Jared – haha!) had planned out and orgainsed for their big day. From the cute signs, to table plans and individual laser-cut names for every one of their guests.
The reception was set up in
Stacked, which turned out to be one of the coolest indoor reception spots I’ve seen on Samui 🙂
Their first dance as husband and wife! <3 <3
One of the things Jared said to Kirsty in his speech was “all I need is 5 minutes with you to be myself and just be silly, and that makes me feel better again”. I can’t think of anything better to look for in a life partner! You’ve done well Jared! 😀
Party time! I LOVE my Aussie couples. One thing that’s guaranteed is a good time on the dancefloor!
Hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did writing it! Happy Saturday!
