Taling Ngam Wedding: Eva + Florian

For a couple who’s been together more than 10 years, the wedding day is just a another day of many happy memories made. They had their legal marriage done in London where they both live with a few close friends witness their commitment, but they were saving up for this day to celebrate with all their loved ones on Koh Samui. After more than a year of planning and many emails and a couple of Skype calls the day had finally come! I’m so excited to share some of my favourites from their beautiful wedding day with you! They planned to have their wedding at Am Samui which is a beautiful little resort on Taling Ngam beach with an amazing sunset to go along with it! Eva got ready with her mum in her room… While Florian got ready with his groomsmen… Thanks to Don for these awesome photos of the boys! They had two types of ceremonies,  Thai and Western which were both so special. Even though I couldn’t understand all the speeches in French, I could tell that whatever the guys were saying was so sweet and touching… everywhere was crying! I swear, these two are one of the

Tongsai Bay Wedding: Abby + Scott

After meeting on a night out, Scott got her number and took her out on a date at pizza hut. After that they were just always together. In searching for a venue in England, nothing caught their interest and so they decided to look for something in Thailand which had been one of their dream destinations for years. The Tongsai Bay turned out to be that perfect place for them! They chose a pretty beautiful spot, check out this view! Abby and the girls got ready together excitedly and she had both of her bridesmaids do her hair and makeup. As the girls got their finishing touches done I headed over to see Scott. 🙂 He’s obviously excited! Abby’s mum helped her onto her dress. She handed a pocket watch gift to her step-father just before they got ready to walk down the aisle. This is once of my favorite photos from the day! So cute! After the ceremony, we got some portraits with the boys and girls… And then I went off the the side with the beautiful couple for some bride and groom photos. <3 Then we headed back to join in the party! Which the little ones got started up

Intimate Taling Ngam Beach Wedding: Louise + Devin

Louise + Devin wanted to elope with on Koh Samui and contacted me well before their wedding day and while chatting with them online, I kew they sounded like an awesome couple, but it wasn’t really until meeting them in person did I find out how much we had in common and what lovely people they are! I had SUCH a had time choosing the photos from this wedding because I literally LOVE them all! I met up with Louise and Devin for the first time for a Love Story Session before their wedding and we had so much fun, it only got me more excited for their special day on the beach. They got ready at Villa Nagisa together with Louise’s sister, Hibe who was their witness. Polina helped Louise do her hair and makeup on the day. Samujana, Samui Wedding: Simona + Cezar

Simona and Cezar came such a long way from Romania to get married on Koh Samui here in Thailand! Cezar used to live in Thailand (in Bangkok) for 3+ years and had been to Samui before on holidays, so he couldn’t think of a better place to get married. They chose the beautiful Samujana villas in Choeng Mon to have their ceremony alongside their close friends and family. Simona went for lovely soft pink hues with lots and lots of fresh flowers… Cezar walking his son to the ceremony site…. so cute! We were bracing ourselves for a rainy ceremony and possible plan B relocation due to the rain, but the clouds ended up parting for us in the end, leaving us with a perfect window of time to hold the ceremony just before sunset… it was gorgeous! The Samujana villas have a couple of big grassed areas near the beach with views looking towards Chaweng. I love this view of Cezar watching Simona walk with her dad towards him. There were heaps of laughs during the ceremony… signs of a couple in love! Petra of Azure Weddings did a wonderful job of planning, organising and styling for Samujana on the day, I loved this

Ban Suriya, Taling Ngam Koh Samui Villa Wedding: Jenny + Tim

One of Jenny’s friends asked her move over from England with a job offer and she took the opportunity and moved to Australia, not expecting to stay long. But I guess the charms of the country (as well as Tim) won her over in the end. They met in the Whitsundays one night while Jenny was visiting the islands on holiday. They stayed in touch and before they both knew it, Tim was moving to Sydney to live with Jenny. They decided to get married on Koh Samui so their friends and family could make the trip and have a vacation with them. Ban Suriya is the stunning villa that they chose to become husband and wife, and I just love it! Jenny and Tim are the sweetest, most relaxed, non fuss couple and their wedding day was the perfect celebration and reflection of their love for each other and their friends and family. Jenny and the girls got ready together excitedly while having their hair and makeup done. Their colour theme was a simple green and white, beautiful and natural, which Aey of Dreamcatcher Events arranged for them seamlessly. The girls getting all excited for Jenny! I think everyone

What to wear to your Love Story Photography session

With my Love Story Photography sessions, I have a general rule of one outfit per hour… some of my couples opt for one hour, whereas others opt for 3 and I’ve had the question of “What should I wear?” pop up a few times. Personally, I love the beachy style, free flowing skirts and loose clothing.. to me that all just adds to the relaxed chilled vibe of holidaying on a tropical Thai island 🙂 Of course what you wear also depends on where your session is going to be. Here are my main tips: Stay away from matching tops + bottoms, instead try to coordinate… think mix and match! Wear something you feel comfortable in. If possible, reflect you personalities in your outfits. Choose your outfits to suit the location: for the beach you can go all casual + fun, where as at the resort you can be a bit more formal if you want. Take a look below at what some of my previous clients have chosen to wear! Effortless + Fun I feel like Rhea + Gavin turned up in what they ually wear at home on a weekend od going out to meet friends, and it

InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Wedding: Hannah + Peter

Hannah and her dad came to Samui in October last year and that’s when I first learned of Hannah + Pete’s story, it just got better and better the more I heard! When I finally got to meet Pete for our love story session before the wedding, we were laughing (and adventuring together) like old friends! Their story is seriously one of the sweetest I’ve heard and I’m sure you’ll agree! Hanah and Pete met a towards the end of high school, Pete saw here from across the field and took note, later that night texting his friend for the number of that beautiful girl he saw at the game. He succeeded, and messaged her and they went out, towards the end of the night Hannah told him she would be leaving the next day for Bali and then would be moving straight to England… Four years later, Peter decided he wanted to know what Hannah was up to and found her on Facebook and ‘friended’ her. Then began 8 months of messages, which turned to emails and calls and then Skype calls. And soon enough Hannah was making plans to visit Peter in Sydney to test out their love for real. Obviously

The Dream Chaser and the Believer…

Now I’m not one to throw around the word ‘faith’ lightly as I think it’s a bit if-y. It’s too often used in the context surrounding religion, and that’s a whole other topic altogether that I don’t like to go talking to strangers about, lightly, yes… ok, but not to be taken too seriously. BUT I think it’s the right word to use when I starting thinking about goals and dreams. I’ve always been a BIG dreamer. And by big I mean… you might call me crazy. Some of the things I’ve ‘wanted to be’, growing up (including, but not limited to): Flight Attendant (so I could live the literal ‘high’ life and travel the world for work), Chef (so I could create yummy dishes all day and be like ma dad), play write/cinematographer (so I could make awesome stories up in my head and turn them into a movie for people to watch), translator (so I could work for the UN and get closer to saving the world, and travel to places I’d never even dreamed of), An ASIO Agent (You will laugh at this one! The Aussie version of a CIA/MI6 Agent… a SPY!), a war photographer (this

In Asia Villa, Lipa Noi, Koh Samui Wedding: Rumi + Hiro

Hiro and Rumi met after a long time of dating in Hong Kong, their mutual friends decided to finally introduce them, and the rest is history. Through our emails I could just tell these two were an awesome couple, and it only became more apparent when we met up for our Love Story (Engagement) session on one of their trips to Samui earlier this year.  Hiro grew up in the US around Colorado, so I bet you can imagine his awesome American English accent now, Rumi in Japan.  They love traveling, anything to do with nature, and good food and of course good people! They had chosen InAsia Villa as their wedding venue on Koh Samui… which I could see on the day as soon as I got there, it suits them just right. Samui has become a big part of their story. They’ve been here 3 times already & can’t get enough of it! When I got to spend the afternoon photographing them for their love story session I just loved hearing their stories of exploring all the different corners of Samui together. The team at Bliss Events Thailand were their wedding planners and made sure everything went smoothly. I love the

Tumbling Waters Retreat, Sydney Wedding: Bri + Paul

Briolynn (Bri) and Paul and I have shared a long photography journey together… I was already so honoured to photograph their proposal AND engagement on Koh Samui. So when I got an email asking if I’d be available to photograph their wedding in Sydney last November I could barely contain my excitement (Nek can attest to this, because we were in the airport in Kuala Lumpur waiting for our next flight when the email cam through). Lets just say I did a few jumps up and down, nothing too embarrassing. 😉 As soon as Bri visited Tumbling Waters with her sister, she knew it was where she wanted to get married, and brought Paul to show him soon after. All I can say is they did a good job at choosing! The views overlooking Stanwell Park Beach are amazing! Bri and Paul have been friends since high school. Bri was the new girl who moved into Paul’s school, they met in hospitality class and said their first ‘hi’s then fell into different friendship groups. About a year later they became proper friends, and then later again, best friends. One night after going out with her friends to have a few
